What is the goal of QualCasting?

  • The goal of QualCasting is to find the perfect person, not an actor but an actual individual who represents a target market.  It produces an end product that captures real life preferences and situations for products, medical conditions or any other application.  Actors need an emotion to feed on and emulate.  Understandably this emotion isn't necessarily native to the actor. Often, QualCasting is used to create mock commercials for actors so they can emulate the emotions of an actual subject. 

Who is using QualCasting?

  • Those creating informational videos, internal training videos, commercials, and advertising pitches use QualCasting.  Additionally, ad agencies will produce commercials with our QualCasting people for actors to study prior to producing the final spot.  The actors use the QualCasting commercial as a guide to help them produce a more realistic and appealing commercial.

How Qualcasting works?

  • The QualCasting process varies from project to project depending on the requirements and information needed.  Below please find a typical project lifecycle for an internal information video:

     

    1. Phone Screening Criteria – determine basic requirement for subject including geographic location, age, gender, product preference, diagnoses, etc.
    2. Headshot Submission – Once the subject is determined to be qualified based on the phone screening criteria they are asked to submit pictures of themselves.  These pictures are then posted on your password protected web portal for your review.  As new casting subject submit pictures they are continually added to your portal.
    3. Video Submission – Upon your approval the subjects are asked to visit one of our offices to do an in person interview (typically 3 –10 minutes).  This video is then added to your portal along side the subjects screen shots.
    4. After you approve your chosen subject, researchers go into the subjects’ home, place of business, or other chosen location and film their commercial, informational video or internal training video.

Where do the people come from?

  • Individuals who are QualCasted are selected from the Great Opinions database of qualitative market research respondents based on your specifications.  These individuals did not sign up for a casting service of any type and are normal everyday people who are interested in focus groups.
